Frequently asked questions
How does EchoWatch connect to my AWS account?
With a read-only IAM role you create in one CloudFormation click, scoped by a unique external ID. EchoWatch only reads Cost Explorer data — it never gets write access and never touches your resources. You can also use read-only access keys if you prefer; any stored credentials are encrypted at rest.
How quickly will I hear about a cost spike?
EchoWatch checks your spend every hour. It spends the first couple of weeks learning your normal pattern; after that, a genuine anomaly is flagged within the hour — not at month-end. Budgets are active from day one while it learns.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to get started, and you can connect an account with sample data first.
Can I change plans later?
Absolutely. Upgrade or downgrade anytime and we'll prorate the difference — no lock-in.
Which clouds do you support?
AWS today, via Cost Explorer. GCP and Azure are on the near-term roadmap through the same read-only connect flow.
Where is my data stored?
EchoWatch is UK-based and GDPR-compliant. Your spend data stays in the UK, and we never store your cloud credentials in plain text.
